I know I want my ex back. I have reached a crossroads and I have decided that I am going down the road to reconciliation. Fingers crossed !

Let me think about WHY I have made this decision and what convinces me that this IS the way to go. I have done a lot of thinking these days in the cooling off period and as I have had a whole month so I have reached a few conclusions.

First thing I did was to try to be objective and to write down the good things and the bad things about our relationship. I was pretty objective and am proud of myself. I could never have done this at the beginning as I was so upset. Now I have calmed down and I am being pretty rational and objective.

First I looked at all the positive things. I thought about how I fell for my ex – what was the spark that started off the fire ? Well, there were many things to consider. I thought about the great trips we had together – that first holiday was heaven ! Then we had great times going to the movies.
Then we phoned each other all the time and told each other everything. I mean everything – silly little details about the daily grind. There was a strong physical attraction and that made it even better. We had similar political ideas too so we had lots of discussions about all sorts of things.
I was really good and I have written these down – a good old fashioned list ! There are some pretty good things on that list and I think that was why it worked.

Then I made a list of the negative things. Well, there were not that many ! But they were there and sort of lurking in the background. We shared the same political beliefs but when it came to religion , well we were up against a brick wall. Couldn’t have been more different and my religious beliefs were important for me and my ex had never been inside a church ! That of course led to talking about having kids and being committed. Again we had different feelings here and we didn’t talk about them that much. We were having such a good time that these things were brushed up under the carpet but boy, did they come out when we broke up !

I know that every couple have their ups and downs but honestly I think we had a great thing going and I want to give it another try. Also, I feel now in retrospect that the break up all blew up very quickly and I was a bit rash and drastic which was matched by my ex who said a few dreadful things about me. Now I need to go forward and get my ex back – well, I need a strategy and I want to know what to do next to get my ex back.
